Tax and MOT puzzle .

Ok so I got my bike MOT 'd today and I've just tried to tax it online but it all went a bit wrong . I followed the whole process right to the end where it offered the option to print a statement or click Finish . So I clicked Finish and it went to THIS SITE CANNOT BE REACHED. So I went to Gov.uk Vehicle check and discovered that I'm still on SORN and , more worryingly , the MOT is still expired . Any advice or suggestions because at the moment I'm wondering where my £51 has gone . I don't do online banking so I can't check .

It can take up to 5 days to show up sometimes.

Yeah I get that but I don't like not knowing whether I've paid or not . If I'm not showing an MOT I shouldn't have been able to complete the tax payment should I ? You would think it would have told me so rather than going to Site cannot be reached on the very last click .

Probably just busy with staff shortages during this virus outbreak.

I assume it's an automated process .

Happy days ! All gone through now . I guess that DVLA is running on reduced staffing levels but I'm still a bit surprised that the process isn't fully automated .
