Artek Starter

Had to venture out for the first time in 3 weeks in the XJ today to collect shopping. Not been driven much at all this year and the car refused to start and was almost completely flat. Luckily I have an Artek battery starter which sits in the glove box. First time I've had to use it. Connected it up and turned the key and the car burst into life. Excellent bit of kit.

I've connected up my trickle charger now. Hopefully after a few hours it'll be fully charged. 24 hours I would think but I'm sure others will have a better idea.

The battery is a Yuasa which is only 18 months into it's 5 year warranty so should be fine once charged.

*** ADMIN - Sorry, how do I delete. Intended for the Jaguar forum I'm on. ( 4 wheel XJ, not 2!) ***

Although the Artek does work on bikes too.

I would just leave it, in fact a pic of it would be good

My 3.0 XJ6 was completely flat and it started it. Highly recommend.

We was out on a ride and a guys charging system went and took his battery with it!

I disconnected the charging system and removed the battery and connected one of these up as he had it under his seat and it got him all the way home :D

Hmm interesting I have seen these things but been a bit sceptical

I was the same until I used one the way I describe above

I was very impressed to be honest

It had previously started the bike 3 times and was not fully charged either

Although how long the last unused is a different matter :?

I had a jag once, it was before the Internet was invented 😂

I honestly think I'm sticking with jags, as I like mine more than I thought I would

Aye I won't lie there are a few things to sort aka washers not working properly, intercooler boost pipe leak, drivers door sometimes outside handle doesn't open the door, heater pipework in dash not working as no air flows from vents apart from the windscreen vents and I have a few knackered suspension bushes and drivers side spring is broken and the n/s/f abs sensor faulty

Apart from that its brilliant :thumb:
