Shock absorber Yamaha XT660R

Hello,

time to change shocks on my Yamaha XT660R has arrived. I'm trying to find something more competitive than my old OEM stuff.

I've started to do some more serious offroad beside my everyday road use.

I've checked between Ohlins, Hyperpro, YSS, Wilbers, Bitubo and others.

In the end I come up with two models: Wilbers 640 and Bitubo XZE0.

Both have rebound and preload regulation.

What do you think, are they good for offroad? Which would you choose? Would you recommend something else?

By the way the payload on motorbike would be between 150-160 kg.

Thanks for your answers.

Hi and welcome to the forum

I have had a Bitubo in the past and I wasn't impressed!

It lost all its damping within a year and needed a rebuild!

The service from the supplier was shocking (no pun intended) By the time I had it rebuilt and sent back to me it was almost 2 years old!

I had loads of messing about with it and had to get Bitubo involved to put some leverage on the importer but even that took time

Hello Stu,

thanks for your reply, for sure it has been useful.

I've red a lot about Wilbers and mostly were good opinions.

Probably will go for them.

I will wait till October, somebody said usually in this period they have some special discounts.
