Bought a new Lid - Bell srt Modular - Noisy - SENDING BACK

Recommended Posts

Afternoon all.

So with my birthday money, I bought a new helmet. It was on sale so seemed a bargain.

Its the Bell SRT Modular Hi-viz predator with included pinlock.

My initial thoughts were good, looked and felt quality. I did think it came with the reactive tint visor based on the photo but it doesn't. It does have a good sun visor pop down though.

My gamble on size paid off and it fits good. But.. went out without earplugs or earphones to see if it was quieter than my cheaper IXS helmet. And it seemed very noisy(wind) Could be due to being larger than my other but I did think it would be a little quiter.

On the way home popped earplugs in and was ok.

For £150 its not a bad buy as I do usually have earplugs or pods in. The pods I have hurt when taking this helmet off so may fit a Bluetooth set in the helmet as it has an area for them.

Anyone else used this same lid?

I'm a Nolan boy.

Used a Shark following advice from the shop in Edinburgh and was a waste of £225, uncomfortable, noisy and heavy.

last year finally got rid of it and got a Nolan flip up. under £180 including a 2nd pinlock.

Even better than my first Nolan and I will never go to another brand.

The open mechanism is brilliant and easy to use, there is space for the earphones from the intercom and really quiet.

got it from these guys

this one isnt heavy or hard to use, but wind noise is higher than my cheaper helmet. But using as normal with plugs in it was ok.

Will stay with it for now but will look at Nolans. Had forgotten about those
