CBF 125 over revving on cold air start

revving at almost 4k turning off the engine then on again seems to fix.

supposed to be 2.2k I think till settling to 1.9k

thought it would be a cheap fix but looking at the cost of sensors on this thing are frightening. I brought this problem up here before could I use that as evidence to Honda that it was happening in warranty?

so there is generic group of sensors for £100 on throttle body. o2 sensor £2.50, oil temp sensor £50. where should I start if it's cold air temperature causing it.

Does it stay at 4k then or will it drop after a while? Most bikes rev high on a cold start then will settle down to idle, how long depends on how cold it is.

If the bike isn't very old I'd go back to the dealer and tell them about it, after all it's not something you could've caused. Then demand that they fix it

yes it settles down after warming up. if someone else could confirm their fuel injected bike revs that high?

Mine is FI and it revs high when first started but I couldn't tell you how high as my bike doesn't have a rev counter!

I'll look at what mine does in the morning.

Pretty sure it doesn't rev that high. But it's not going to do it now after being in the sun all day

This morning: 1400 rpm then to 2000 for about 5 seconds, settling back to 1400.

the dial isn't calibrated or so Honda told me when they checked mine. maybe I could just say look I got you to look at it last time and it's got worse.

Did anyone get to the bottom of this problem? I have the same issue. Its a real pain.

Have you got my old bike? Never fixed it, didn't seem to affect MPG so who knows. Just don't ride it in winter. It's definitely one of the sensors though.
