Should I mod my baffle?

Hi,

I've put an IXIL Super Xtrem exhaust on my ER6-N. It came with 2 baffles, one quieter than the other. So, I've 3 options.

The quiet one (right in pic) is, well, quiet and boring but would keep any mot tester happy.

The louder baffle is pretty good but could do with a bit more volume.

No baffle sounds good but I'd use ear plugs if I was going any distance. Police get upset at no baffle!

I was thinking of drilling extra holes in the louder baffle and cutting off the closed end. Is that going to work or am I just going to wreck the baffle? 3df6d057829530ae129be4d122d6538b.jpg57d8558a59e305ad48b9b1c8bdad68d0.jpg

Welcome to TMBF mate. .....pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can. ...... 8-)

Maybe a few extra holes, but I wouldn't cut the end off......otherwise it'll be just the same as no baffles.....

Just be careful with Modding it, as you could mess up the fuelling.....and the bike could actually lose performance. .....

Ok, thanks. The bike runs well on either baffle or no baffle so I'm happy enough that modding shouldn't cause a problem with the engine.......I think......I hope!

Great to have a loud exhaust sometimes but as someone who is often following other riders. Even with ear plugs in it is not entertaining to be behind someone with a very loud exhaust for any length of time.

You're more likely to attract unwanted attention and from my experience the ER6 works well with the stock exhaust ( though probably better headers are available my Kawasaki one snapped)

I tried a couple of after market cans and found more noise but less performance and used more fuel
