Instrument cluster not working

Recently I have been having issues with regard to the instrument cluster as nothing lights up other than the neutral light, now the bike does start and run as normal before anyone asks ^^

Issues already marked off the list / fixed...

1) Ignition switch was faulty so took that off and had to clean the contacts as they were corroded to hell, tested afterward and working fine.

2) Bought a new instrument cluster and tested the old one, both do work fine after testing however there is a faulty fuel gauge on the old one (Neither work when connected to the harness).

3) Fuses checked and are fine

Current issues...

1) Instrument cluster isn't working when the ignition is on, the only light that shows on the display is the neutral light and not even the speedo needle moves either it just remains at 0 MPH.

2) Recently found the push start to be draining the battery, what could be going on there? (Had this issue since it all started, luckily I have a remote start / alarm / immobiliser installed on the bike of which works fine)

A while ago and I am talking about 2-3 weeks ago I took the bike off the road to get the rear break caliper sorted as I got a replacement for it and fitted that onto the bike with new pads. I then went to start the bike and got no joy as the battery went flat due to the cold weather (Bare in mind I don't have a garage), so I took the battery off to charge it however when trying to start the bike everything was working fine electrical wise beforehand yet whilst trying to start it the speedo needle got stuck at 80 MPH and the lights started flashing red on the old instrument panel.

So I thought there was an issue with the instrument panel itself and bought a new one then fitted and connected it up when it arrived, I then turned the ignition on and got nothing on the instrument panel other than the neutral light until I turned the steering to the right because my father was doing something and when I turned it back to centre the instrument panel all lit up, the speedo needle did the up then down thing so I know that it worked, but only briefly.

Since then it hasn't worked even though the instrument panel itself when disconnected and tested off the bike, does work fine so I know the issue lies with the wiring on the bike maybe even with the loom however I do not see any issues with the harness itself as all of the connections and wires seem fine.

I did notice again that the push start button is draining the battery and don't know why because it were fully charged one minute and as soon as I pressed the push start button it tried to start but the battery ran out of juice, and I held it for a second and no longer. Knowing that being an issue, what else is connected to the push start and runs in sequence when using the electric start?

Has anyone had this issue before with their bike?

Dodgy earth somewhere. Fact that the ignition switch was corroded is suspicious. And when you moved the bars the fact that it briefly came to life also suggests an intermittent connection. Only way to be sure is to test the harness with a meter. "Looking ok" or "seeming fine" isn't enough. .....As almost everything is dead, I would suspect the earth, as stated above.

It's a Lexmoto Venom 125.

Wouldn't have thought it to be a dodgy earth and so it seems the battery holds the charge fine if I try to start the bike remotely, just not when using the push start.

Will have a look through all of the connections, and check the battery again with a multimeter and see what is happening later on.

True that.

Alright have bought some new bits and bobs, put them on and connected them up and still no joy.

Wire loom

ECU

Ignition switch

Instrument cluster

And nothing YET. I am at a loss atm because anything wrong with the old wire loom I'd have thought would be fixed with the new one, however it only seems to have made things a little worse which is strange because everything is connected up as and where they should be.

For some reason now the horn button only makes the left indicator light up but not flash, yet on the instrument cluster the indicator plus the neutral lights are flashing and I've a good thought on what could be causing that and before anyone says it yes I have checked the cables, yes I have checked the connections and they are fine.

Hi I'm having the same problem with my lexmoto venom to but when I turn it on it make a noise then nowt all it dose is flash i have asked around and when ppl have said its this and that its been changed and still nothing

I'd start a new thread and say what you've tried already. Otherwise we might just repeat what you've already done. Be as specific as you can about what is flashing on the display and what else is happening. I'm assuming the noise you hear is the fuel pump priming?
