CG125 gear problems.

For some reason my motorbike only shifts in to third gear when doing either 15mph or 30mph and at 30 I have to roll off the throttle to get it to shift up. It’s only third gear doing this and it has done since I owned it. 3 month.

The bike also jumps when accelerating. Only a couple times a day in my 20mile journey. It isn’t a loose chain as I recently changed my chain and sprockets as a kit. Could the symptom be a slipping clutch?

Many thanks Lewis

No. A slipping clutch produces increasing revs as you apply power with constant or decreasing road speed. And what's this about "having to roll off the throttle when changing up"? Errr...it's how you change gear. You do understand how to use the clutch properly?

Take RH side cover off. It could be a worn gear selector cam, gear selector rod or selector drum. Difficulty with 3rd gear common fault on these engines.

I will see if can take the time to take a look at selecteo many thanks. And yes I can’t use the clutch going in to 3rd gear as I have to apply pressure to the selector for third gear and if I use the clutch it loses the ability to change to third.
