Ive been building a cafe racer out of a 1982 cb400n

Ive put a new brake lever and new braided hoses on it i bought some second hand calipers which are in really good condition, ive filled the system with fluid and bled the calipers but my lever still squeezes to the grip, ive nearly pushed a whole bottle of fluid through them and im still getting tiny air bubbles

Any ideas whats going wrong?

All the fittings banjo bolts etc are new

Use a Mity Vac on em. Did mine in ten mins after pumping a litre through them without. Another help is to fit a banjo bolt with bleed nipple to the master cylinder.

Ive just had a look at the mityvac looks like a decent idea, ive just looked over my lines and one of the banjo bolts doesnt have a copper washer, do you think air is getting into the system?

Could be your problem.....They need the copper washer to seal correctly..... 8-)

Spongy brakes ? No air in the system ? Dirt behind the caliper seals without a doubt. Remove, clean grooves , replace ( probably don't even need new seals as long as they aren't ripped ) The difference should be like night and day .
