JesterPilgrim
I need a replacement headlamp retaining clip on one bulb, but what I need seems to be an unusual, asymmetric type. Can anyone help me identify this part? It's for a 2007 Kawasaki ER6-F and I can't find the part in their drawings!

fastbob
It doesn't look too difficult to make using a bit of wire and some pliers .
Grumpy Old Git
It doesn't look too difficult to make using a bit of wire and some pliers . Spring wire - not 'normal' stuff.Get one similar from a dealer / breaker and cut/bend to fit.

JesterPilgrim
Was really hoping to find the actual part - I bought one of the Halfords H7 springs and have tried to bend it into shape - succeeded only in weakening the metal to the point of breaking with very little effort. Get a piece of Piano Wire from a model aeroplane shop. Wear protective eye gear when bending. I made undercarriage legs from it with a spring section made by wrapping round a former. But if it breaks it goes with a bang.

megawatt
Make one out of mild steel. Heat it until cherry red, then drop into cold water.
Stu
the closest one I can find to match what you have is this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Transit-Van-T280-SWB-Headlight-bulb-holder-retaining-spring-2000-2006-ONW/142476483729?hash=item212c429c91:g:5PwAAOSwC8FZbSUtyou could maybe try and make it fit with a bit of modification but its not cheap! Bhawk
this has caught my eye, i have a yamaha thundercat and the bulb retainer clip has snapped on it, meaning my bulbs a bit wobbly, its a H4 bulb, so will any H4 retaining clip from halfords fit it or are they different, the problem i have is i only have part of the clip which means i cant compare side by side to see if its the same.Cheers folks

JesterPilgrim
I ended up successfully bending a Halfords clip to my will. It's not pretty... but it's not wobbly either.
