Yosser
I have renewed the parts in the starter clutch and when the chain wheel is attached on the bench it only grips the stator in a clockwise rotation when it should grip anti-clock-wise. Youtube shows everything I am doing is correct. Any help would be appreciated

Any help would be appreciated As there is a specific One way bearing in the starter clutch system i would hazard a guess that you have placed the bearing the wrong way round . Not necessarily, I think he just doesn't know that the engine rotates clockwise so there's nothing wrong with the starter clutch if it only grips clockwise because that's what it's supposed to do . I love the phrase " YouTube shows everything I am doing is correct "
