It is common for these to not show neutral particularly when hot. Unfortunately the bike thinks it is in gear when it doesn't show neutral. just pull the clutch and it should start ok. The batteries appear to be on the small side and if it is slightly under voltage or cold it will only start on the kick. I had one of these and got an Oxford charger for it and then it started every time on first turn.

Hope this helps

It is either a fuse or an earth problem

as stated in origional post not battery as tried with known working battery and powerbank jumper

Bike knows when its in neutral as it shows when kickstarted

thnx LES

Might be the switchgear in the right hand side. If it is on the originals they are poor quality. As far as I can remember there is only one fuse which is under the seat so in theory if it's blown nothing should work. There is also the starter solenoid under there too. I'd check all the connections as a start then look to the right hand switch. I have just remembered I had the same fault when I first got mine and changed both.

You'll need the battery on so they can test the lights etc. Also, if they kick start it, it could damage the electrickery without a battery in the system.

Just explain to the tester that the starter isn't working and that they'll need to kick it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Bought a "chinese bike " haynes manual

wiring diagrams look like a platefull of sphaggeti and dont appear to cover the arizona exactly

however located a red fusebox just to the rear of where the battery sits next to i believe the starter unit

inside was a broken 20 amp fuse so hopefully once replaced should solve the problem

still waiting for my licscence

will post again
