Honda CBF 125 cut out, mid ride. Will not start.

Hello.

The problem that I am experiencing is as follows:

My honda CBF 125 starts fine after resting. I ride it and at some point it cuts out. I coast and stop st the side of the road.

The engine turns but does not start. There is no spark. I have tried changing the coil. The bike ran for 30 seconds at idle then stopped.

I have experienced this twice. The first time I was riding for an hour when it cut out. The second was after 5 minutes.

Could it be the ECU/CDI? -how can I check this?(OBD2 port?)

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your responses, although I dont think this problem is the stator. There is power to run the lights and turn the engine over so I sont think it's the charging system. There could be a fuel problem as well but that doesnt cover why there is no spark.

What he said.

I had the same problem one morning, the bike started and then died suddenly, the spark plug died, and it looked alright visually.

One new spark plug later, i was off on my way to work!
