The frequency of getting logged out has certainly dropped.
Dropped is not good enough though! It shouldn't be doing it at all :?
So we blaming cookies 🍪 I knew biscuits would be to blame.
To be honest that is all I can put it down to!

yup understand the different locations etc

Some ISP's are still using rolling IP's I believe! especially looking at the logs of the IP's the users have posted from! like @Bender he has posted from 480 different IP's
Which could trigger the log out as a potential security issue.

So the system is actually doing what it's supposed to do.

Don't think you'll find a way round that if the user variables keep permanently changing.
But that's what the cookies are for to remember them on that device! which takes me back to it being a cookie issue :?

But then @Fleck tried it on a device that had never been used on the forum before! and it still logged him out
What options are there for adjusting cookies in the Admin CP?

But bear in mind nothing changed except for the DNS so there is no reason for it not to be working plus everyone would have the issue too :?

So am I right in thinking that the only ones affected are those that are active in this thread........and everybody else unaffected?

There has to be a connection there.......the board's not just going to force them to login each time for no reason.

So what is the common factor between all of them? ISP's? IP ranges? System security applications? Chinese motorcycle owners? They're all twats?

probably the latter :seeya:

no connection to ISP at all! I suppose the next question is do you all have some kind of extensions/addons on the browser that you use or antivirus :?

Feel like we are clutching at straws on this now though :?

I just did a search on Google for "Why do users get logged out of phpBB".......the answer was........

"Users who get repeatedly logged out of phpBB are usually deviants who are known to hang around transport cafes offering blowjobs to truck drivers. Generally it's recommended to keep their kind logged out of the board as much as possible to minimise the risk of any unfortunate incidents that may occur should any truck drivers sign up."

You'll have to make the call on this @Stu.

Deviants, blowjobs and truck stops, surely that's six's department?
