Not good on slow connections when people link to huge images!
Understood.

But does anybody have a slow connection anymore?

 I'll do mine when I get home, I get 160mb over the wifi and would get closer to 250 if I plugged in but my Ethernet ports only support 100mb I think.

I have now figured out that if I take the pic holding my phone
sideways instead of upright they upload easily and the right way up!
Much better than before! no fannying about resizing!

Photobucket has become utter toss - and now Dropbox has removed the link image function.

Can anybody recommend a good (free) alternative?

I looked at Flickr, but it automatically converts png files to jpgs.
Yep,imgur, and an additional app called grin, just upload to imgur , select the appropriate embed code I.e for forums , pin to clipboard . Go back to th forum, write a message, tap clipboard , submit post and that's it.

As already mentioned on here and this thread https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtop ... =6&t=62523

Using external hosting services is good but when you link to the image most of the time you are linking to a full size image so if it's 5mb or 25mb the full image is downloaded by the user!

This is not good for users on a slow connection or metered bandwidth on mobiles!

As per the thread above I have adjusted settings to allow larger files to be uploaded to the forum so it has never been easier

The bonus with uploading them straight to the forum is they are adjusted to a smaller file size which makes loading of the page very fast and not eating up bandwidth ;-)

Maybe I'm being really stupid... But I'm trying to upload some images and there's no 'upload image' tab under the preview/submit options. I've tried tapping the image icon and just get this: Image

??????
