I can build you a PC for your needs if you tell me your budget. I can even get it posted to you.

Not late at all I haven't even started it yet

Thanks for the offer but this is something I will be building myself :thumb:

No problem! I custom built mine too not so long ago. I'm happy to help in any way I can.

Well, you got a decent site to pick your parts so nothing holding you back now!

Big question is the OS

I went to overclockers for mine, it was £20 cheaper to buy the components for the PC I wanted so I let them build it! I got it 4 years ago and PC world are selling worse PCs for the same price I paid now.

Already checked those out

they are not the cheapest out there although the savings on postage can make the difference!

PC world are pretty competitive too!

Overclockers deffo, join the forum. Find out whats great for the price and crack on :thumb:

I built myself a pc with these components - Intel i7 3820, Asus P9X79 pro, 16gb ram, Samsung 500 SSD x2, 2x2tb WD Black HDD, X'fired Sapphire 7970's over 4 years ago and it still kicks ass, even the very latest games on max with no worries so todays specs must be ace.

Never been into the whole DIY PC scene, probably because I'm not a gamer and don't need a mega powerful graphics card or neon lights in the case!
I just need a powerful multicore processor, plenty of ram and SSD boot drive - that sums up most mid range, off the shelf pcs now so still no need to build my own.

I built myself a computer recently. My specs are not OTT partly because I wanted the machine to be as quiet as possible. The only moving parts are the semi passive power unit and the a couple of hard drives.

Well pleased with the result.

That sounds like a decent rig. Worried slightly about the lack of hard disks, read backup, there. I tend to have two of everything for just that...

Call me paranoid :D

You are paranoid

My important stuff is backed up on a spare hard drive I have and also in my dropbox account :D

I don't keep back ups on the same rig as if the PSU goes tits up it could take the lot out

No point backing up to a drive that's inside the same machine and in the same building!!
Start using cloud storage and you won't need large internal storage.
