I'd never use AVG. I'll find the AVG removal tool link and a link for Sophos home that isn't a pile of crap.

in the "type here to search" box on your desktop, type task manager, and run the app. in the startup tab you will be able to see what programs are booting when you startup, just disable anything you dont need will kill any resource hogs before you get running.

I got so sick of mine going slow i turned off windows updates in services and tuned off cortana and its now fine fingers crossed.

A recent windows update put computers into energy saving mode I believe, this basically makes the computer run at 25% speed most of the time. In search bar type "power plan" (Choose a power plan).

Then change advanced power settings
Current bike:- Suzuki 1998 GSF600
