small hondar FF project

Pictures of a possible project with a small Honda, C90 or similar.

I am on the lookout for one of these Hondas at a reasonable price for me.

Maybe 0$ to 600$ NZ?

I can get a 75cc one, looking for 90cc to 110 cc,

Possibly Lifan etc , too.

off Trade Me NZ, in running condition.

With the horizontal cylinder, you can get the seat down low.

I think this one was done without cutting the frame (much).

For a fairing, I was thinking thin sheet PVC, if I can get it around 1mm thick.

Is this flexible/crack-proof enough?

A facetted or planked outer surface is acceptable.

PVC uses solvent glue, or I can heat-weld it with a hot-air gun.

Welded fittings need to be done in NZ with a TIG welder, but I can tack it up with an electrode welder,

then maybe borrow my brother's TIG to finish it off.

I would like to lengthen the wheelbase a little, possibly use a better front end than an old Honda Cub.

With the fairing, it would be fast enough to be pretty scary to ride. The 90 will do about 55 mph

flat out if you put your head down.

I have heard that the 110 will get into the "scary zone! :)

forza 140 pit bike

Interesting Forza Pitbike.

I am not allowed to use running gear of one of these on the road- I don't think there is a road model in NZ.

You have to get a certificate from the distributor that the parts are the same as road ones. :(

I could pinch the engine, though- It would replace a Honda "flat" engine OK.

Those forks, front brakes look desirable.....

There are some step-thru scooters that have 110 cc motors. If any come up in my price range,

I will check out the specs. They probably have better brakes and front suspension.

*update 24-7-17*

CT110AG are still sold here, or have been until recently, according to Wiki, so I will look for one of

those. The stepthru bikes are all vario belt drive. I would rather have the gearbox/chain setup.

Another interesting one is the Honda Grom, or MSX 125.

This has a similar engine layout. This is super recent, so I expect they will be pricey.

They have put the finning on the barrel the other way, at right angles to the direction of travel.

I suppose the angle of the finning doesn't matter as much as the depth and spacing, as it is filled with vortexes anyway.
