Old police bike probably 1940s

The bike has a headlamp mask on it....so I'm guessing it's wartime or at the end of WW2. The model looks similar to the 1939 model I linked to. Judging by the people at the side of the road in their sunday best it's possibly an escort for an important visit or VE day? Just guesses on my part really.... :)

Again a bit of a guess....bit I don't think "official" bikes had to have them (Police, Military, etc)....only potential law breakers were required to have them..... :wink:

My money would be on it being an Ariel WNG 350, which where built for the military.


I believe the Navy got hold of a lot of them though.

 

I did wonder about Ariel's. Did they have Girder Forks too?
