  • 2 weeks later...
once they blu then the chrome is discoloured you might be able to polish it to reduce the bluing effect but you will not cure it

Ok was worth asking, i can get it shiny after a lot of polishing.

P.s i still have the er5 i might keep it until i pass, i had a proper ride on friends private road!! So its in storage ready to ride in the future

I love 2 strokes! personally I'd leave the blueing! adds character!

Hi rennie,

I have left it well an truelly a lone, as my build i only have an hour here and there every evening, but i agree it dose add character

Must admit.

It does bring back a lot of memories. AR 125 was my first bike as a 17 year old. :thumb:

Sure it isn't your old one ;)

It was brought from kawasaki dealer in 1997 its a ex show room bike 1984 b1 it was last road worthy in 1998 then i stumbled a cross it in 2011 in a corner of a breakers yard and paid £250 then 280£ on a spares engine.

I will revile the reg plate later on

I am 2nd owner on paper work, i am sure it has changed hands many times off paper work

Finally had an hour spare after work yesterday, removed the engine and fitted the donor engine as it looks like there is a good piston in it, good bright spark.

Here is a up date picture main goal is to get the mounts tighten'd and carb of to clean full service then ill try fire it up. I have put the stand exhaust on it for now
