Honda CBR 400rr NC23 Resto

Recommended Posts

Needed something to get my teeth into, probably bit off more than i could chew here but getting through it. Trying to keep everything as original as i can , though some things were beyond repair like the rad and clock frame, when i got it ,it wouldn't start but that was just a solenoid, an auxillary tank clean petrol and clean carbs(a spare set) and it started, so stripped it down. This is the story so far.

The shock I dismantled and repainted as were the engine covers and stanchion sleeves, the plastics were original so I plastic welded them and under coated , the frame, sub frame ,swingarm and wheels i got powder coated, all work done by myself except for the powder coating

ooooh! The tank looked pretty cool with the rust! Not in keeping with the bike though

How long did all that take?

Also was it just a rust hole in the frame you welded and sanded back down?

Also those front discs came up nice!

Also I will probably have more questions later

I think the tank had what you might call "patina", i called in rust, the frame had a sneaky sticker over that dent , so filled it with ally weld and rubbed it down, the discs weren't too bad just rusty so rubbed them down and repainted , taking my time with it cos keep getting interupted with other peoples projects, in fact the hardest thing was the plastics ,welding them and filling holes, adding bits

That's looking like brand new!!

Cheers Joe , the powder coating of the wheels, frame, and swingarm came to £100, think they did a good job for that price

Can't complain at that price!

I like cheap, Cheers Mr Fro :thumb:

Are you on mates rates or something? It'd cost 5x what you paid around here.

Hi , no mates rates , their just a good outfit of grafters , so no frills just a spit in your hand for a handshake, the name is Lund Engineering, Lancaster, they even said if I chip it ,bring it back and they would sort it, will go back there :thumb:
