Cafe build

Recommended Posts

Hey this may sound dim but here goes. On scramblers and cafe racers is the battery exposed to the elements or are they covered with some kind of protection? I've seen a few cafe builds taking all the body work off, just wondering if it is exposed how does the battery cope with rain??

If the battery is hidden from view there's a good chance that it's one of these new Li-ion batteries ( I think that's right 😏) I understand that they are smaller and lighter and it doesn't matter which way up they go which makes them ideal for squeezing into odd spaces. Back to the original question, can a battery be exposed to the elements ? We'll yes , as long as the terminals can't arc to any nearby object there shouldn't be any issues. If they can keep acid or gel in then they can certainly keep water out.
