FREE - Industrial/scientific water purification unit

Recommended Posts

We've upgraded our water purification unit at work so we now have the old one going spare.

It's a Millipore Elix 35 with a tank/pump unit underneath - all handily mounted on a nice stand. :-) It's capable of supplying 35 litres/hour at 10-15MOhm resistivity and TOC <30ppb so you can use the water in your lab, fish tank or maybe even use it for the cooling system in your bike.

Plugs in to the normal water mains and is 240v.

Here is a PDF of the bumpf.

This is *FREE* for a couple of reasons:

1 - You have to arrange collection during office hours from south of Cambridge.

2 - It's now a legacy item so is no longer supported by the manufacturer. The good news is we have two complete sets of filters (about £1200 worth) which are available for you to buy for £500 ono (should last a good while).

This is being released as spares/scrap/whatever. No guarantee is given or implied as it's not been used since we moved site a few months back and no-one can be bothered to plug it in to check.

Any questions, give me a shout.

Cheers,

Fro.

We may well be interested if it's still available.

We've gone PCR for all our pathogen screening, which has drastically reduced the amount of purified water we use because we're making much less agar, but we still chug through a hundred litres or so every month. Just a couple of quick questions:

1. Roughly how long do you reckon the two filters will last, and are they common to any other current model?

2. Will it fit in an XC90 with the seats down or will I need to hire a van?

Cheers Fro! :thumb:

Sorry Mark - it went a while back. Should have updated the post.

I might have a small lab compressor (with slightly iffy bearings) and a big floor mounted 3 phase autoclave coming up in the not too distant future if anyone is interested.
