My other half and I where looking at this depending on the service you want you can get cheaper though couriers & next day delivery.

I think UPS was a hot contender not cheapest (by a little) but we could deliver to local shop and they deliver to door and vice versa or they could do door to door.

How much stuff do you really need though? I managed to get everything for me and the missus into two Oxford saddle bags for a weekend away on an er6. No camping though to be fair. And it turned out that bike is crap for two up for more than a couple of hours. Like a painful pogo stick.

Some people do more than a weekend away though

We did ten days in Europe with two large panniers a large top box and tank bag

It was a bit tight but we got ten days worth in although the hairdryer and straighteners take up a bit of space

Most panniers are smaller than the ones I have

For a weekend away we could manage just the top box at a push

We can manage for overnights but it depends on weather summer we might manage a while longer, winter with more gear 2 or 3 nights or we might start smelling...

Camping certainly for us is out we don't want to lug round that much around, although its not helped by my misses not wanting a top box.

Even for a few weeks away with decent panniers and a top box you can carry all your gear though, but I was referring more to a TT visit of a few days. Granted not everyone rides a bike capable of carrying all that but if I can manage two up with just saddle bags for a long weekend then I could easily do two weeks solo with the same space.

Don't really think it's worth camping two up for more than a few days, that requires an excessive amount of gear. I can see where this service would be useful there.

I like to travel with minimum kit though, I can see why you might have a problem if you like to have all the luxuries.

Cheer for putting up the link Stu,

I was thinking more of the guy's who are going to the TT or other and struggling getting there gear on the bike. I've done the skimpy camping trips, carrying the lightest tent and thinnest sleeping bag and suffered the consequence, hence l built my trailer. With all the old boarding houses on the TT almost gone "they've been turned into apartments" camping now is really the only option you can rent a tent but there charging between £20 to £50 per person per night crazy money! Far better to pitch in get a good tent and gear and send it ahead direct to the camp site, the will also pick up and return it home after the event. Also a blessing if you've got a sports bike or not use to carrying a load.
