South Spain tour in August: shall I go for North instead?

Hi all,

I am planning 10 days in Andalusia with an Africa Twin in August. How tough is the heat for riders over there in that period? I am interested in anyone's first-hand opinion. I am considering the north as well, from Barcelona to Santander. Would love to hear suggestions

Hello and Welcome :D

I did Torrevieja in Sept on the bike and it was still very hot.

Also did Benidorm/torrevieja/cartagena in July/Aug in the car,

it was incredibly hot! Melted my gearknob!

It's doable but the stops need to be often and shaded

f**king unbearable if it's hot, if it's one of these heatwaves much worse.

Inlaws have a place out there, have had some nice days in August but have had some where you just couldn't do anything till the evening, even the reservoirs were warm when swimming in them, (don't drink tap water 😁)

I've done Malaga in August it was bl@@dy hot, I arrived in leathers and did not use them again until back near Madrid. It was not fun, so unless you need to be there go north and enjoy!
