My ANF 125i - *Ebay*

Hello all! Thought i'd share the first bike I ever built.


I'm 26, been driving since I was 13 and spent most of my childhood on the IOM watching the TT every year wanting a bike more and more but was never allowed one! After doing about everything car related I thought it was time to get on one.


So I got this bike earlier on in the year from a friend who bought a load off bikes from a delivery company in London, the bike had done just over 54k and was not in the best of conditions. Fairing was broke, keys were lost and the spark plug looked like the original! I don't have any pictures from when I first got it as my phone broke and lost so many pictures..


But so you get the idea this is what i started with:

Due to the high mileage and clear disrespect the bike had over the years I stripped it back to a bare metal frame and removed anything that didn't need to be there like the chain guard, cut and grinded off all excess brackets etc, coated it all in red oxide primer and then topped with matt black.


I was never really a fan off the wire wheels and didn't really want to have inner tubes in the unlikely event of a puncture so I spent many nights searching ebay and the web for alternative wheels and stumbled across a bike called Haotian HT-100/Swift and the bike looked near identical so took a chance for £100 bought both wheels the hub and rear brake and low and behold it all fit spot on bar needing a 420 chain type rear sprocket.

I then opted for Avons AV83 front and rear, brilliant tyre!


Standard air box went straight into the bin along with the restrictive exhaust, replaced it with a angled foam filter (bought a red one at first, didn't like it so got a black one) and a second hand Blade exhaust system for £90 also from ebay.

Yes its pretty hideous I know.. Especially that headlight but I ran it like this for a little while, the day after the MOT riding the bike home it just cut out on me, later realized it was the generator so I replaced that, but as I was putting the cover back on the top of the engine cracked! FML was I pi$$ed off! So i ended up getting that welded back up and also removed the starter motor and had that bunged and welded too.


Then after a few months I thought lets do it all over again!

Removed the final brackets and the bracket for the key/steering lock (I couldn't keep the key in the original position as it would of made hot wiring even easier.

Made quite a few more changes this time, the original switches were part of the fairing around the speedo, found an all in one off ebay to help tidy things up, a different rear light with the indicators built in, smaller better looking head light.

As this was being done I ordered EBC friction plates, EBC springs and clutch shoes. I did also order some TRW metal plates so it was a complete set but the garage that fitted it for me said they were the wrong ones but my old ones were fine anyway, whilst it was there it had a new oil filter, magnetic sump plug and exhaust studs and bolts.

All the wiring + electrical components were moved into the seat.

Haotian HT-100/Swift front + rear wheel + hub + brake

Blade performance exhaust

Grab handle - Used to have a pizza box fitted so came without grab handle + rear foot rests


I still need to fit front indicators, rear foot rests and have a bracket welded onto the exhaust so i can mount it but it holds itself on at the moment. But other than that I love it! Easily hits 70 and goes just over =P

Can anyone help with this?


For the last couple of weeks I have had some strange electrical problem.. The red FI light has been coming on and off every now and again, when you switch the ignition on the speedo either lights up, goes off then comes back on or doesn't come back on at all. With the ECU disconnected it comes on and stays on, the bike still starts and revs but when you rev it too fast sometimes it bogs down like its trying to die. I'm not entirely sure if its the throttle body or the ECU?


Any ideas? If i can fix this bloody problem it would certainly be a lot easier to sell.
