Liveware Problem
Hello, back for more advice So my clutch cable is knackered, I've bought a new one and also these 'eBay special' levers.. I'm hoping they'll be OK!Any tips for replacing these parts? It seems I need to take the tank off for the clutch cable, anything to watch out for?P.s. Yes I do have weirdly flat thumb nails
Guest
Levers are super easy, no real tips required. They look the same as the ones I got cost something like £14.99 and they've lasted over 18months now so no complaints. Clutch cable, I guess main thing is just making sure you get the tension right and give it a bit of lubing if it's not already lubed up. JRH
Also follow the existing route and make sure there are no sharp bends and the cable runs smoothly before the final hook up and adjust.
Mr Fro
In addition to the above - a bit of copper slip on the pivot wouldn't go amiss.
Stu
before you pull the tank off try taping the new cable to the old one and see if it will pull through Some work some don't but it may save you pulling it all apart

Managed to fit the new cable and clutch lever, will fit the front brake lever tomorrow
Stu
I have had a few where you can manage to feed it through without removing anything! most need bits removing though!
Liveware Problem
I have had a few where you can manage to feed it through without removing anything! most need bits removing though! That would have been ideal, luckily the tank wasn't too tricky to remove
Liveware Problem
All done! The new clutch cable seems slightly longer than the old, which isn't ideal, but have managed to adjust it OK.Thanks again all
