Bad luck mate. Least you know what to expect next time.

Definitely keep in contact with the shires as they'll be more than helpful trying to get a test booking for when you're available

Cheers guys. I've called them up today to see what they can do and they have moved some things around and I'm back in on the 6th first thing in the morning which is brilliant as it's only one day past the wait period.

As much as I enjoy a test the retest fee has focused the mind so I will be doing everything to try and make this one count. The rest of the ride went pretty well so I'm quite hopeful.

Good man!! That's the big day for my wife's driving test as well. We've got a few miles between me and you so you'll be fine

Good luck though mate you'll smash it this time I'm sure. Like you say, shelling out for the retest is enough to make anyone focus I think!!

Thanks guys! Well today's the day and it was going so well right up until the point that the examiner didn't turn up. My test was at 9:37 and we got there at about 20 past. We were in the waiting room and a lady came out and said the examiner was running late and he was hoping to be there for 10:45. She said I could wait and hopefully go for it then or I could cancel.

There was two main problems with this, the first was there was another test for someone else at a different school booked for 10:45 so if I was to take that slot they would have to give it to me and then they would have to ask the next person and so on, sadly waiting for the potential of a test this morning wasn't an option for me. The school has been great and they are going to claim for the cost of supplying the instructor and bike directly so that I don't have to pay extra. My work schedule is pretty stacked for the next few weeks so the next suitable date is the 25th. The school have also said that as my next test is at 11:40 if I come in at 8:30 I can have a 3 hour pre test lesson to give me a good refresher seeing as it's a few weeks away. They aren't going to charge me for this which is really kind of them.

Overall a bit of a frustrating day but at least I got to ride again with some extra tuition thrown in.

2nd attempt went much better. 2 minors. One for going a little wide and the other for cutting a corner.

I'll do a bit more of a write up later, I'm busy looking at bike trader now.

Well done mate and congratulations!
Now to make the choice of what bike to get.

Out of interest, was the corner that was cut, out near Cosby? There's a tight corner there they use in test tires that catch people out.

Cheers mate. It was this junction https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.55800 ... 312!8i6656

I was only just on the wrong side but it was a fair cop.

This was where I went slightly too wide going left. I think I was just a bit too eager to get closer to the centre of the road but I wasn't going to argue https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.55061 ... 312!8i6656

Chuffed to have finally passed but I've enjoyed the experience.

Not the one I was thinking off. Either way a pass is a pass :D

So what bikes are taking your interest so far?

I already fancy a change from the CB650F. Tried out my work mates Tiger 800 XRT today. Could really see myself having one of them, would make the 60 mile round trip commute so much better and still considerably fun on the twisties.
