Track Day on the A1 License

Evening folks!

I've been browsing the internet for some time trying to find the definite answer to a track day on an A1 license. Seems to be a club membership, an ACU racing license and all the compliant ACU gear.

Could anyone confirm, as I am only 17 and would like to have a go on track at some point.

Best Regards — Stuart.

I think beefy is right on that. I don't think it costs all that much to do the ACU licence though - have a look through the MSV website for the bumpf.

Some (most?) tracks have a lower CC limit that you cannot go under, a quick google shows that Silverstone (for example) specify a road machine of 300cc and up or a 125cc race bike. They also specify a minimum of A2 licence. Here is their page on it all.

So at least for a start it depends where you go.

Some tracks you can ride with no licence.

Mallory/ Anglesey/croft any track that msv don't own.

No limits have a minimum cc limit, so unless you race and rs125 you will need 300cc minimum.

Acu will cost you about £300 all in. Then £48 a year to renew.

All msv tracks (caddy/oulton/donny/brands/bedford/snet) need a unristricted licence or acu.
