For what it's worth, I don't think B &B offsite has worked in the past. It makes the whole think rather disjointed. I feel it is just as important as a function space - what's the point of a group event if we're not together as a group?!

I've looked at the Uttoxeter venue & whilst it looks a good option, it's in the middle of nowhere so no B&B close enough.

I'm sure theres pubs in wales that have a B&B and campsite if anyone would just rather have a trip away with no karaoke?

Susieque and rennie could go on bike then

What with my change of job, I drop from 27 days to 20 days off a year, so with other commitments, I voted and would like to attend, but I have 3 days left to take. I think attendance will be conditional on luck and a clash with my one weekend off a month.

How about Brighton...

I second Brighton ! :thumb:

Or anything near Dover, like Eastbourne, Hastings, Folkstone...

But I fear that campings along the coast only [except aaaghh... stupid mistake... this is what I meant-->] accept pure Gold as a currency in Summer ...

But seroiusly, I would like to visit your Rally if possible.

You know, I joined this Forum for I was planning a camping trip to the Lake District by bike last year.

Did not turn out that way, I went by car with the wife instead.

Great trip, great holiday, no problem there, as some of you know from my posts at the time.

But I still would like to come over to the UK bij bike some day; it has been such a long time.

Now I overheard my wife and daughter plotting a 'girls only' trip to Italy for them two plus my daughter's 2 daughters in August.

No boys allowed...

So I'm hoping that I can sneak out when they are abroad, and come over to England....

I think anything up to the Midlands is doable, since I would cross to Dover.

So I'll see what comes out of the poll.

I'll leave my preferences in there too, need to consult a map though to see what is where.

Oh, and maybe you won't expect this from a Dutchman, but I would very much like a social event... !

Yes! 8-)

Uttoxeter venue:

5.5 miles to nearest Travel Lodge (taxis available - pre book for Saturday Night late pick up).

3 miles to B&B's.

Nottingham Venue:

MFN - 'Rough Camping' (no facilities) - No B&B on-site - Function Room ("possible").

Waterloo Inn, Biggin - Camping and instead of B&B - 'Glamping' - No Function Room.

Huntingdon Venue:

Free camping - No toilets outside opening hours / No showers (unless we hire 'modules').

No Electric hook up - Marquee available 9with power) for social.

Ferry to Hull?

Rotterdam - Hull is not my favourite crossing really.

It is a very long journey, and I don't care much for ferries.

And it is more expensive than the Dover ferry.

Plus... I heard that some very strange people live in Hull...

I prefer Dunkirk - Dover or Calais - Dover.

Even (especially) if it means a longer bike-trip to/from the ferry both in Europe as in England.

Ferry-journeys are boring, bike-trips are a treat !

But I'll see where the rally will be exactly and how much time I've got.

Ok - Not enough people willing to camp so that's me done.

Over to whoever wants to run with this.

I'll cancel down the Uttoxeter (provisional) booking.

I've tried over 35 places and none will fit the bill exactly EXCEPT The Miner's Standard and I know what people think of that (robbing bast@rds) place!
