Mine doesn't record speed, and the speedo is not in shot. Not that I speed anyway.

It's a Mobius action camera :thumb:

dont get complacent though ...Time over distance

100m marker posts etc etc

Just proves what a clot he is. Firstly for riding like that. Secondly for recording himself riding like that. Thirdly for leaving it on a camera after he's had an accident.

I find that when I'm recording a journey I tend to drive / ride much better so using a camera kind of makes me less prone to do daft things in the first place.

Mobius are really good cameras. Is yours the 90 rotated one?

Don't think so, it's the same size and shape as a matchbox.

The original had to be mounted flat with the buttons facing upwards, which was annoying for helmet mounting, but they make a 90degree rotated version that can be mounted on its side to stick to the side of your helmet.

I made my own. I took the original apart and rotatated the camera sensor. There's a thread on here somewhere where it shows how I did it.

Great cameras though!

Thanks bollocks to honest.. if seen more dangerous things on the road that the cops should deal with 1st Mobil phone users .. old farts who are blind .drunk drivers ..

Thing is, mate....We all know the speed limits ( or I hope we all do), so, if we speed we're doing it consciously and have to accept the consequences. So, the usual argument goes "well, if it all goes pear shaped the only person likely to get hurt is him"......but, would you like your kids to see a biker wipe himself out? If people want to pull stunts like that, then there's plenty of places around where it can be done that won't affect innocent bystanders.

Anyway, in this story, the only reason this came to light was when the police looked at the footage on his GoPro after he was involved in an accident where his female pillion passenger was hurt and he was being investigated for dangerous driving.

Well as ppl got hurt then yes do him . But my point was if no one was hurt ..

Also I don't like ppl doing wheeles as if it goes fits up it the bike that comes off worsed . As I hate seeing bikes bouncing down the road bits flying off while the rider lands on his butt and gets up the bike its then in bits .. no one thinks of the bike .. the bike didn't ask to be bounced down a road ..

Ok read it all I just seen the film.. Well ok he hit a taxi from behind . Okn his fault they say you must be stopping distance from the vehicle in front

But he was not doing 120mph then was he he was not on the M3 then was he so why was he done for it as i said no one was hurt.. no accident been reported .. so were is the dangerous driving .....it's only dangerous if some one been hurt or crashed .. he should have only been done for the time of the accident .

It's just sloppy police work . It's why ppl don't like the police they rather do ppl for vehical crime then real police work stopping ppl getting stabbed/kiled in london .old disabled ladys geting attacked by scum who covered her in eggs and flour .. .kids being raped by there so called father then the child dies then dont arrest the father lose the evidance failed to check if he was looking at porn while he was abusing the child ..not checking hospital staff why was the child bum torn open .keeping the last nappy for evidance .

Real police work . No checking ppl dash cams ..

He runs into the back of a taxi and injures his pillion passenger. The police then find footage showing he is an idiot on a bike. Should have been banned for much longer IMO.

Please read the report again. There was a pillion injured in the crash and he was an accident waiting to happen, which thankfully only resulted in minor injuries.

What it shows is that there are some police who do investigate thoroughly and do check all available evidence. What you really want is the cop who checked the helmet cam to be put in charge of rape investigations, as we know he/she will check all the evidence and not miss out the hundreds of texts the alleged victim sent the accused, begging him for sex.

That some police officers have been found wanting in the standard of investigation they do, does not mean all are so neglectful.

It is because of rants like yours that people often get completely the wrong impression about the police, because just like the police they are criticising, they did not check the facts.

I don't see why that makes it any less of a crime though? Ok no one was hurt... That time...

But regardless of any point to the contrary, his riding in general showed him to have a general disregard for the law and others, and this likely contributed to the crash which injured someone. So it's fair enough he had the book thrown at him.

Dangerous behaviours breed dangerous accidents.

The pillion he was carrying sustained minor injuries.

Diligent police work has removed a dangerous biker from the road for longer than otherwise (but not long enough IMO, but that is down to the court).

http://news.hampshire.police.uk/news/video-motorcyclist-disqualified-after-he-was-caught-out-speeding-by-his-own-helmet-cam-315293

"During a two day trial, the court heard how Kuzmenok came to the attention of police after he was in collision with a taxi on West Quay Road on November 12.

He was travelling with a female pillion passenger, who suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision, which saw the motorbike go into the back of the taxi.

Officers seized his GoPro, which was attached to his helmet, as part of the investigation into dangerous driving.

The footage revealed he reached speeds of up to 120mph along the M3 northbound, just four days earlier, on November 8.

That footage also showed Kuzemenok travelling at 105mph along Thomas Lewis Way."

A lazy police officer would have shrugged the female passengers injuries off as minor (or ignored them as others have done), got the rider and driver to exchange details and left it at that. The rider is now able to go on with his idiocy till maybe someone dies.

The diligent police officer checks all available evidence and uncovers a series of serious riding offences and we are all a bit safer on the roads.

I grew up in the new forest and went to school in Southampton.

I think everyone I know has tried to do 105mph along Thomas Lewis way. And 120mph northbound on the M3 is pretty normal for the Sunday night rush back to London.

Not defending him or saying it's right, just saying neither are actually that unusual...

The legend we all wanted to achieve was "ton-ten over Totton flyover" which few have achieved, as it's scary as hell, but I've been a passenger in a Sierra Cosworth doing more, but that was pre-speed camera days ;)

I have a thread about my attempts to do the ton. My attempt was not with a pillion, on a stretch of motorway that I could wait till it was clear for over a mile and in good weather. I also did not film it, so no one can actually prove I really did over 100 mph :D

I used to ride pillion with a mate, till he did the ton over the Forth Road Bridge. After that I was not on a bike for 20 years, till I did my CBT.

There is a huge different between considered risk taking and that of the rider in the OP, who is a danger to himself and the rest of us.
