Textile waterproof jacket/trousers with built in armour?

Recommended Posts

Back protectors are usually bought separately.... Not always, but it's fairly normal. Even high end gear like Rukka.. Doesn't place much emphasis on the spine.. They concentrate more on the usual impact points. Shoulders, elbows, thighs and knees. But there will 99/100 be a ready made space for a back protector... Or you can wear it separately under the jacket if you choose.

I tend to use a Knox armoured shirt and take armour out of the jackets. More comfortable and the armour is held nicely in place rather than flapping around like it does in many bike jackets.

All jackets and trousers specifically for motorcycles must have a minimum of CE approved protection. This can be supplemented with additional or better protection. Have a look at J&S or sports bike shop web sites.

I have RUKKA which is spot on, good fit, keeps me dry and warm and the armour Is massive, in all the right places as well, I upgraded the back protecter to a level 2, the down side was I had to nearly kill myself with overtime to afford them, it was that or sell the wife! At the end of the day you get what you pay for and after being out in some horrendous rain I can vouch for the fact that RUKKA really does meet all expectations
