Headlamp retaining clip

Was really hoping to find the actual part - I bought one of the Halfords H7 springs and have tried to bend it into shape - succeeded only in weakening the metal to the point of breaking with very little effort.

Get a piece of Piano Wire from a model aeroplane shop.

Wear protective eye gear when bending. I made undercarriage legs from it with a spring section made by wrapping round a former. But if it breaks it goes with a bang.

the closest one I can find to match what you have is this one

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Transit-Van-T280-SWB-Headlight-bulb-holder-retaining-spring-2000-2006-ONW/142476483729?hash=item212c429c91:g:5PwAAOSwC8FZbSUt

you could maybe try and make it fit with a bit of modification but its not cheap!

  • 1 month later...

this has caught my eye, i have a yamaha thundercat and the bulb retainer clip has snapped on it, meaning my bulbs a bit wobbly, its a H4 bulb, so will any H4 retaining clip from halfords fit it or are they different, the problem i have is i only have part of the clip which means i cant compare side by side to see if its the same.

Cheers folks
