Oh well , every cloud.. you can spend the time off learning the guitar 😉 Seriously, glad you're otherwise ok and thanks for making me think about my cheapo gloves .

Late to the party on this one, but sorry you've hurt yourself, and good luck regarding the nail re-growth. Another example of why riding defensively is so important.

Sorry this is so late, but massively sorry for your off. It's always shite when the bike goes down, that much more when it wasn't even slightly your fault!

Really glad the other party stopped and it's all being sorted.

They have schoeller keprotec on the label but as said they are at very least 10 years old maybe older and were used pretty much daily and in every kind of weather, I honestly don't blame the gloves, I blame myself for having such an old pair but kept using them because they were so comfortable

For this whole thread you've been so sensible about your gear situation. Just a quick thanks for actually saying "Probably my bad for having old gear". It would have been so easy for you to pass the blame off on the gear, even if the gloves didn't actually fail in their usable life.

Proud likely isn't quite the word I mean, but I have a lot of respect for you putting your hand up (sorry) over this.

I think your honesty has probably made a few members have another look at some of their older gear parts, which is a massive deal. :thumb:

Hope you heal quickly and really hope you have a verdict on your bike / insurance claim soon.

It should definitely be top of the list for teaching new riders I feel especially the younger ones as its them that all too often ride like they don't have a care in the world then through no real fault of their own have an off because they didn't take others' actions in to consideration

I'm hoping that nobody else has to go through this its not hurting now just a real inconvenience because the bike is a state and I'm off work so not getting paid but apart from that its just one more lesson learnt the hard way.

It would be very easy to blame the gloves but the rest of me is ok, also it probably isn't the first time them gloves have been involved in an off due to they're age I'd be guessing iv come off a few times in them so yes it was totally my fault for not replacing them sooner

Hope you're healed up soon and insurance won't be a nightmare.

So just been on to the insurance and it's going down as a non fault claim so i keep my no claims, all expenses will be covered by the 3rd party insurance and I get a hire bike while mine is away, only thing to sort out now is the personal injury claim I will see what the insurance will be then look at other options though I'm not sure on how much I should be looking at with my injury???? Anyone with any ideas how much I should receive??

 I do catch your drift so basically if the pain is a 5 put it up to 7.5 or 8 and lay it on nice and thick

The minimum on whiplash is £2.500 then you have a year or so of pain this is why so Many do these crash for cash scams . These ones are making millions. Yet its us who pay . But if it's a real accident then I'm all for paying out but crash for cash they need locking up for a long time .

So just had the dressing changed and although the finger looks bad there was no sign of any infection so I'm hoping it will heal well :thumb: now just a waiting game to see how long it takes before I can get back to work and out on the bike again

Ouch!, sorry to hear this, I hope you’re not in too much pain that nail looks nasty, wishing you a quick recovery and don’t worry too much about the bike, you’ll be able to get the bits for that easily enough, main thing is that you’re ok.

Cheers mate, well the bike is now on its merry way to the repair centre for them to price up the repair but I believe they will just write it off but I'll be able to buy it back, so now just looking for alternative bikes should I need to though I would buy it back and track the ninja as for my injuries I'm not in too much pain at all really even when the pain killers wear off though due to the bandage I can't get a glove on yet but hopefully won't be too long before I'm back riding though I'm not putting a date on it
