I like that there is a bike called Um. If someone asks you what bike have you got, you can reply "um" and then pause. That leaves the questioner to think, has he forgotten what bike he has?

I also like that another company is having a go at importing and selling a new range of bikes. Competition is good and from that, there will be winners who go on to produce quality products.

I also like the range Um has, especially the Scrambler and Vegas.

it seems strange that a lot of bike company's now have a bike called a scrambler even though they will probably never see any off roading

I thought that, till I saw some videos of the latest Triumph Scrambler being taken off road. Very capable indeed. High clearance, knobbly tyres and long suspension travel makes any bike at least OK off road.

Further update, visited J&S today, had a look at clothing to see what is available and tried on a few jackets, then spent around half an hour trying on helmets, tried on different styles and makes, and came home with a Frank Thomas flip front, i know it is a budget lid, but out of all the ones i tried on, it fits perfectly, it's comfortable, has the features i wanted, and came in well within my budget, so i am very happy :thumb:

i know it is a budget lid

A properly fitting budget* lid is always going to be better than a poorly fitting expensive lid if you need it :thumb:

*Is there such a thing as "budget" if it's still tested to the same minimum standards? I'm not sure there is. There's just helmets, some with more features and maybe better comfort with things like wind

Edit: not that sort of wind, stop giggling at the back

I hope it give you many happy miles.

certainly given plenty of steps, been wearing round the house for most of the afternoon

Nice move. Nothing like swanking about the place in a bit of new gear..... seriously curtailed for me by having workmen in the house but heyho :D
