Unreasonably excited

I've been drooling over the 2019 Diavel S for a while now, but tomorrow morning the nice chaps at On Yer Bike in Aylesbury are giving me their tester (just in and currently still in the workshop) to take out for a ride. 1262cc, 159bhp, 129NM... an absolute beast of a bike and almost unique in it's hybrid (some might say strange) sports/cruiser styling and performance.

I don't think I've ever fallen for the looks of a bike as much, so it'll be interesting to see what it feels like to ride it. If I like it as much as I think/hope I will, I'll have my no. 1 objective for 2020 sorted!

Ooh looking forward to the write up. ‘

159bhp that’s three times what you started on just a few months ago..... take it easy and ENJOY :thumb:

You're right, it is about three times the power. Thank you, and I will be careful.

More power than you could use on the road, looks mean AF, and that single sided swingarm... Pricetag is erm premium so try a few other things too to make sure it's worth it! Also cos testing bikes is just plain fun. I do hope you like it, gets a good mcn and visordown write up.

Saw one in the flesh.. 5 years ago at the Kaiser Franz-Josefs Höhe when I went away with Snod Blatter That rarest of Ducatis. out, on the road when there was snow about and most remarkably... absolutely filthy. which gave it instant kudos.

Not a lot of BHP for such a massive engine considering its supposed to be a sports/naked hybrid.

Tidying up the numberplate will be tricky..

It’s incredibly torquey though (and it seemed like a lot of power to a relative novice like me).

Better than the 86bhp the 1.8L harley fatbob puts out. Torquey, apparently, but nothing happened when I opened it up on my test ride.

Custom bracket under the seat to hang the plate should work.
