Sinnis Hoodlum Hesitation

Hi, I have a 2017 Sinnis Hoodlum and it jerks and hesitates a lot that is quite dangerous. It only seems to do it when it is warm. It almost seems to misfire when driving, it also loses power when pulling away at junctions and also when coming out of a roundabout.

My mechanic has replaced the ecu and the throttle position sensor but still no good. I love the bike and am using it to learn for my test but it’s just no good like this.

Any idea what this might be?

I think it might be that you haven't got a very good mechanic . If they are replacing expensive items without determining that they are actually faulty and there is no improvement , I would ask for the old items to be put back on the bike and that my money be refunded . Then I would go home and check the fuel filter , spark plug , air filter and battery for starters .

I'd start with the air filter then spark plug they are more than likely a big part of the problem

But I also totally agree with Bob

Spark plug was done. Does it have a fuel filter as it’s fuel injected? Ecu

Yes it does , it looks like this . A stupid design because you can't see if it's full of crap . Just get a generic clear one and don't worry about the rubber bracket .

I agree with Bob. Sack the mechanic .and take it to a new garage some one who knows what to do

Also I'd ask for the old parts back as I'm sure hes put new ones on and flogged the old one as they still work . Looks like hes taken you for a mug charging you keeping the old parts and fitting anything he can that not fixing the problem

It’s actually the ecu. I found this out from a guy off eBay. Sinnis are aware, we’ll sort of. It’s a common problem so I’ve just ordered a new one.

Really ? It might have been better to have performed a series of diagnostic tests using a multimeter rather than take advice from a guy off eBay . He wouldn't happen to be the same guy that's selling you the ECU by any chance ? I'm confused now . I thought " Your mechanic " had already replaced the ECU once before . The trick with motorcycle fault finding us to start with the cheap stuff and work your way up to the expensive stuff . So did you check the air filter and plug as suggested ?
