BJ (not the good kind)

I never get involved in politics, I've never met one PM who's ever done anything positive for me or mine....They all F--- it up and we pay the price, that's life.

Our last MP (where we used to live) was an absolute gem. He worked tirelessly for the local community and when bureaucracy messed things up he got stuck in and sorted it out. Top bloke who absolutely deserved his electoral majority.

I know a lot of people of different political colour who voted for him because of his track record.

At the grass roots there's some good ones. It's at leadership level we've got a problem.

Two factors that are at the root of many of the problems with politics in this country.

Easily fixed.

A candidate to be MP should have his primary address within the constituency and have lived there for at least 5 years.

There should be term limits. All MPs should only be allowed to stand twice. So third time round someone new comes in.

This would stop "high fliers" being parachuted in to safe seats.. I'm looking at you Chris Leslie.

And it would get rid of the "job for life - so who cares" mentality that so many MPs have.

I would also add that there should be some penalty for MPs that seriously mess up and waste millions of our money on useless, badly planned "vanity projects".

I've been saying similar for years Gerontious, having a time limited term of serving is exactly what we need. Also having a minimum number of years being in real life jobs and not just coming out of university as a career politician. A limited term would sharpen up our politics no end.

@XTreme dare I ask why? Hahaaa

We were never happy in Britain and despite living in many different places nothing changed.

So we made the decision to go to Spain in 2005.......and never looked back.

This is the sort of environment we live in.......would you want to go back to Swansea?

Point made mate!!! Can’t fault you. When the kids have grown up I’m off, my duty will be done and they’re welcome to visit  I wouldn’t go to Swansea for a day trip hahaaa, especially if I had that scenery to call home!

Despite being a Jack......and still sounding like a Jack......I hate the place.

I'd go to Cardiff rather than there......so that's really saying something.

This'll give you a better idea of where I live.......and yes, the roads are always this deserted!

Anymore room at the inn? Hahaaa. Looks nice though, no wonder you wouldn’t come back to BoJo’s empire!!

Not a hope! Being incarcerated on an island in the North Atlantic resembling a floating 1950's theme park is not really what I had in mind for my senior years.

And where would we put these two? After all they'd be EU immigrants......so all the other horses would be telling them to go back to where they came from!

Well I've just lost my barber. He's leaving the country and going to France. Beginning to wonder if I should have taken a job in Australia I was offered last autumn.

For years I had the same barber. They say there's always someone worse off than you, and for me, he was that man. No matter how bad a time I was having at work I always knew that I'd feel much better after half an hour in the chair with a man whose life was one slowly unfolding car crash. He got divorced when he found his wife was having a serial affair with all his mates; he got arrested for punching a traffic warden who had asked him to move his illegally parked car; he tried to sue the police for attempted murder when they stopped him from getting in his car after a skin-full and he had to walk home in the snow without a coat; and he regularly regaled his customers with lurid and fantastical episodes from his depraved sexual exploits.

His finest hour was when he tried to get his customers to invest in his groundbreaking invention: the iWank. Essentially an interface between an iPad and a sex doll that faithfully reproduced everything going on in whatever porn film you loaded up, this modern marvel was - he assured us at great length - designed to ensure that the complex electronics remained fully insulated from truly startling quantities of bodily fluids.

He went bust not long after that, and I have to admit that I did occasionally glance at Dragons Den on the off-chance that I'd see him explaining the safety features of the device to Theo Paphitis as he was knocking the back out of it, hopefully with a shriek and a bang as the insulation failed and he fried his cock.

iWank

Sounds worse than the brilliant idea I had in my mid 20's - Dail-a-bone. I suppose someone else had the same idea and invented Tinder. :-)

Anyway, I'm all for giving Boris a fair crack. I mean... what could possibly go wrong?

Can't see him putting up much of a fight to be honest, Boris made him look a reet plonker today which was a nice change as he normally does that all by himself. :-D

Just looked it up, they still call it Caerphilly? I'll have to keep a look out in the shops for it. A good ripe blue stilton is just the best.

Edit: removed gif, it was annoying me.
