Trickle charger necessary?

I’m going to be commuting 5 days a week a relatively short 10 miles/30 minutes and was wondering whether it would be a good idea to get a trickle charger or because I’ll be using the bike daily is this unnecessary?

You shouldn't need one if used regularly but it doesn't hurt either, I have an optimate connected every time its parked up in the garage and the battery is as good as new two years down the road, some people will tell you it doesn't do your battery any good leaving them connected to a trickle charger (or battery conditioner) but speaking personally I've always used optimate and never had any problems

The CTEK comes with all the connections you need. I added a connect with LEDs that show the battery charge at a glance. I have them on all my batteries. Green is fully charged, yellow says it's ok but not at full capacity, red means it needs a charge.

The Honda has an alarm system that uses the battery power to the extent that after a week it's flashing yellow. The Bobber can sit much longer before it needs a top up. My spare batteries usually sit for a month before the yellow light comes on.
