Joe
Not with it’s waterproofness, which is just fine, but with the fact that I can’t see anything else in my mirrors as the arms are so baggy. How do people get round this problem?
dynax
depending on the style of mirrors you have, you could change them for taller, wider or bar end ones
Joe
What sort of mirrors would be best for someone with very broad shoulders?
dynax
All depends on the bike you ride and the riding position, you may find bar end mirrors would suit but you would probably need to find someone with a bike with them on to see if they would suit,
raesewell
Does the jacket have adjustment in the arms? If not, some velcro or an elastic band might do the trick. Cheaper than new mirrors
Six30
Is this not obvious ... the jackets to big for you or get one less baggy .
Joe
“Sturdy” torso but short arms you see I’ll try some mirror extenders, that’s a fairly cheap option, and see how that goes.Cheers
Cpt_Tact
My friends Dad wore a leather jacket all year round but in the winter popped a hi-viz bomber jacket over the top. To stop the flapping he used elastic bands up his arms, did this for about 20 years. Bar end mirrors are great (I have them) but you do lose some of the wonderful viewing you get with normal ones. Basically they cover your blind spots and a little either side. I just move my head around a little more and have a good life saver look before pulling out. Joe
I have fitted a pair of these https://www.alchemyparts.co.uk/black-cnc-machined-billet-aluminium-motorcycle-motorbike-mirror-risers-extenders/and they have solved the issue entirely. The outside edge of the mirror is still within the limit of the bars so they don’t stick out too far but I can now see right behind me from both sides.
