They've seen your antics on here....

But seriously, that's got to be a glitch in their system. Do the usual gathering of quotes followed by the usual haggling.

What annoys me about insurance most of all is that if you have an accident which is the other person's fault and they cover the cost of repairs your own insurance premiums still go up just because you've been involved in an accident.

My wife has twice been hit by trucks recently. Both times she was stationary and both drivers admitted they were to blame. In both cases I've had to do the legwork dealing with the truck companies and getting the car repaired because there's no point getting our insurance involved. You wonder what you pay them for.

I don’t want to think about insurances as my blood start boiling.
Yes that is stupidity to increase my premium if I was hit by other driver and no blame on me, as well in that case other driver insurance is about to pay so it is just legalised blood sucking.
I understand your fury Rich, my first quote was 17000

I wouldn't even waste my time responding to that. Just go on a comparison site. get a quote that suits you. buy it. job done.

I might be a bit vindictive and contact the original insurer afterwards. (for my NCB) and tell them exactly why they lost my business.

But, if they are so incompetent that their systems doesn't flag up a mistake like that.. then my confidence in them is - nothing.

If that quote is genuine and not a clerical error, it's the insurance companies way of telling you they don't want to insure you, I'm not in a position to speculate why. It's an old insurance company method to shed customers.

I'd never pay that kinda premium even if I was a new rider/driver so I'll be shopping around see what I can come up with

I wasn't saying it was Rich's fault at all, don't take it out of context. It's just a fact of life, I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong. It could be a rise in crime in a post code or some other event out of his control. My best guess would be a clerical error.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you, and all that...
