gogs01
I like the look of this : 2020 GPZ900R It would be great if Kawasaki could do it at a sensible price - it would be a Katana beater !
smallfrowne
Is this to coincide with Top Gun part Deux?

iangaryprice
A thumbs up from me too. A nice blend of retro and upto date.I liked the look of the Katana when I saw it from the front, but oh dear what happened to the back end!
Bianco2564
Looks good but would you get sick of the Top Gun,Tom Cruise comments. Will a they hand out a pair of aviators with every purchase?
Mr Fro
Fun fact: Kawasaki had to make a scale model of a GPZ for the film due to Tom Criuse's diminutive stature in an attempt to make the pint sized actor appear more like a real size person. skyrider
i was always told the bike he rode was a gpz 750 badged up as a
Mr Fro
i was always told the bike he rode was a gpz 750 badged up as a 900 Exactly, 5/6 the size of a real one... Just like Cruise.
winston smith
i was always told the bike he rode was a gpz 750 badged up as a 900 I heard similar....gpz750 turbo - I wasn't aware there was such a thing. I reckon a 400r or 500 would be more suitable for Cruise's 24 inch inseam My brother has a gpz750r of that era. Sadly it's a project he doesn't have time for at the mo. Amazing looking bike for it's day
skyrider
the 750 turbo is actually heavier than the
Ian Frog
Don't think it was the turbo but pretty sure it was the 750 not the 900.Friend of mine had one back in the day and it wasn't a patch on the 900 lol he was gutted when he finally rode the bigger one.I had a mildly tuned Z1000J at the time and it was easy to keep up with him lol.CheersIan

skyrider
no it wasn't the turbo just the standard

fastbob
Captures the style and spirit of the original unlike the new Katana , which dosen't. Edited January 27, 2020 by fastbob
smallfrowne
Another fun fact: Tom Cruise followed a MiG 28 doing a 4g inverted dive at a staggering distance of only 2m
skyrider
now thats living anyway when is the new 900 up for grabs and what kind of wallet lightening price Edited January 27, 2020 by skyrider
fastbob
Another fun fact: Tom Cruise followed a MiG 28 doing a 4g inverted dive at a staggering distance of only 2m No CGI back then so we had to pretend that Northrop F5s were Migs . My favourite part of the film is trying to count how many times the Captain says " God damnit Maverick ! " In the final dogfight .
geofferz
Another fun fact: Tom Cruise followed a MiG 28 doing a 4g inverted dive at a staggering distance of only 2m Er that's classified!
Bender
Unfortunately Tom Cruise is a tad short, unfortunately that's where most of his shortcomings end, mentalism and scientology aside. He can ride a bike very well, is a Good climber, does more of his own stunts than most, and is bloody loaded.Still think it's a nice bike. skyrider
around us there seemed to be a gpz 900 parked up down every road (an extremely popular bike ) they have all disapeared everyone in britain must have one at the back of their shed under a dust sheet
