This is the Style!

Post by XTreme » Sat Feb 22, 2020 6:33 pm

Today I headed south into Almeria to the Sierra Maria camping area!

20C.....blue skies.....Summer jacket! I had to dig deep.......but I got through it!

In fact I actually got the Givi's out of Winter storage to give them an airing!

Usually I hate these posts but the weather here has been so hellish of late that they're, well, they're a ray of sunshine giving me hope for spring.

Bear in mind that I had bikes through every UK Winter from 1971 to 2005........so I did my time and paid my dues there.

And back in the 70's our clothing was absorbent, tyres were lethal, and brakes rarely worked in the wet. So you think it's bad now......you should have seen it back then. No wonder the 70's were the Killing Fields!

It was only when I joined AdvRider around 2003 that I saw Ride Reports from guys in Spain, Portugal, Italy etc and realised there was an alternative.

Prior to that I had no idea about what it was like to ride in those places, and pre-internet we were all just in our own little worlds and not connected.

So seeing these reports from other parts of the world can trigger things for people. Not just a change of riding environment......but a complete change of life.

Problem for all of you there now is that window of opportunity is closing. I'm not saying it won't be possible......it just won't be as straightforward.
