Morning!

A little ramble why accountants running a business is a bad idea.

The company I work for owns British gas, recently it came time to replace the service vans. Someone got a great deal with Vauxhall and replaced a lot of the old vans. Unfortunately, their rear space is a fair bit smaller and the engineers are now struggling to transport everything they need. Whoever bought these vans didn't even think to check if the rear space would be the same it seems.

Yet it saved a lot of cost compared to buying from VW. So while the engineers will now struggle more due to not being able to carry the types of spare parts they used to, increasing the cost of jobs, someone will likely get a large bonus for saving a few quid. :|

Had a bit of a nipsy twitcher on the way home tonight.

Going round a tight right hander at 30ish I hit a patch of diesel. The front slid out but thanks to my superior skills I pulled it back and continued on my way. 8-)

It made me reflect a smidge.... 15 or 20 years ago I would have either crashed or been shaken up by it and doddered the rest of the way home.

I think the one thing that really developed the instinctive reflexes do deal with stuff like that was track riding. Before going on track I knew all the theory, was an IAM member, could get my knee down and all that but everything was conscious.

Razzing it round a track and learning how slides feel as well as how to recover them has enhanced my bike handling skills and increased my confidence to deal with mishaps far more than any other form of training I've had.

Tl;dr - Get out on track, rag it around and have some fun!
