So the UK is mostly locked down with Covid-19

I just got a call from my mechanic. Its booked in for routine work. I was expecting it to be about cancellation but no. They will be open. Here's the thing though. I will need to deliver it and I cant wait around while they work, the wife will need to pick up and drop off.

Is that legal?

Bozo did not make it clear enough.......he should have said NOBODY but docs, vets, chemists, food shops, and petrol stations can open.

Perhaps his garage sells petrol?

I will book them in with my mate and due to social distancing I will give him the details and he can post the MOT out to me

As far as I understood it everyone can go to work at the moment if they can't work from home. It's not been limited to essential workers only so it doesn't matter if mechanics are designated ...yet.... I would also say that maintaing a vehicle is nessacary so therefore you should be able to drop it off with some help from your wife.

However, bump into one of these police officers that makes up rules and laws in his/her head and you could be in for some irritation of the highest level.

I expect ATS will do the same.

I remember being asked if I minded being bumped down the queue when an ambulance came in with a damaged tyre.

Fair play to all the people in the queue we just said go for it and headed for the coffee machine.

Cheers

Ian
