If you were close by I'd have lent you my tool for spreading motorcycle caliper pistons, only way would be use a longish spanner between the pads but try not to damage the pad surfaces

First try pushing the pistons back with your fingers. You need to push both at the same time if you have opposing pistons. If you're lucky, they'll slide right back in. If they're a little stiff and you don't have the correct spreader, a suitably sized piece of wood will help lever them back in without causing any damage.

I'm still a novice with diy maintenance, by the pistons do you guys mean the part i circled with yellow stains on? And i should remove the pads as well i believe?

The part with the yellow stains ( Rust ) should be gleaming silver before you push it back in . One way to push the pistons back in is to stick the old pads back in and just widen the gap with a tyre lever or a big screwdriver . Dosen't matter if you damage the old ones .
