Heads up

I received an email from Tom Tom this morning. Not that anyone will be travelling for a while still.

‘LAW IN EFFECT STARTED 27 APRIL 2020

Germany outlaws speed camera alerts

The new Road Traffic Regulation in Germany prohibits the use of devices that alert users to the locations of fixed and mobile speed camera locations.

We recommend that you disable speed camera alerts before and while driving in Germany.’

I got that too. I am not planning on going to Germany any time soon. If I do I must remember to switch them off. This by the way was for the Go app.

They will probably come up with another solution for the Tomtom Rider like they did for France.

Well they don’t want you knowing you are speeding after all they are safety cameras, not speed cameras they need all the money they can get now after this lockdown, can’t get revenue if you know you are going too fast. :D :D

pro tip.

when you are. in Town. watch your speed. near any tourist hot spot, where there is likely to be pedestrians/cyclists on the road, and a reduced speed limit. watch your speed. On the Autobahn where speed limits are signed.. usually around junctions or road works. watch your speed.

why does this even need explaining

I got a fine last year issued from Aachen. I wasnt concentrating. lesson learnt. €15.. which almost made me want to give up riding. I had to sell the dog. remortgage the house and sell a kidney.

by the way.. and im trying to be kind, in terms of germany what you have said makes zero sense.
