MT10 Help

OK This is really simple I know but its doing my head in! Small clip on MT10 Hugger, holds rear brake line in place (see photo). Does anyone know how to remove this clip from the hugger without breaking it?? I've pushed, pulled, twisted and it doesn't seem to want to budge! "Should have been an easy job compared to replacing the brake lines" I'm sure its something simple but I can't figure it out :bang: DSCN3063.thumb.jpeg.84bc484d689813736384176662167c7e.jpeg

I would guess that is secured by some sort of automotive Trim Clip that expands when pushed through a hole . Removal would require it to be squeezed together so that it fits back through the hole .

I have these (or similar) on my vulcan. Squeeze the back tabs together with some needle nose pliers to remove the whole clip, or just twist a flat blade screw driver in the lip on the top if you just want to release the brake line.

They're only cheap if you do manage to break it, but they are pretty flexible.

I used to have and mt10 and if I recall correctly you have to pull the clip apart - I think it's an O with a notch and a lip that bites into it? Shouldn't be hard-I'm a dunce and I managed it.

Thanks Geofferz, I got the clip open OK releasing the brake line, it was as Rob and fastbob said, a fiddly clip on the back that I needed some electrical pliers to get at....real pain is the proverbial :thumb:

Thanks Rob, spot on, fiddly but I got there in the end :thumb:

Cheers Bob, it was the only thing I hadn't tried! Really fiddly to get at but managed with some electrical pliers, thanks :thumb:
