License question.

Hi Lads & Lasses, I am from North London (don't hold it against me) I am looking to find out if after a period of time I am entitled to ride a larger cc automatic bike.

As I shall be changing my address I thought I would upgrade my entitlement at the same time if applicable.

The categories on my License are-: AM since 21/11/14 A1 restriction 78 since 04/02/03 A 79(3) since 19/01/03

I have had a full driving Licence for a car for more years than I care to count.

Any advice please.

You are limited to 50cc unless you take a cbt in which case you can have up to a 125cc but a cbt only lasts 2 years so you will have to retake it every 2 years if you want to keep riding anything bigger than a 50cc

Sadly there is no automatic entitlement or such. The cbt every 2 year thing is a particular piss take in my opinion. Many people don't want to go any bigger than a 125cc anyway so being forced to go for a full license or fork out £100 every 2 years is not on.

it was done like that to stop perpetual Learners .. some doing 20 years or more .. that was a pisstake .. the CBT 2 year limit stopped that..

You can take the test on a 125, and then you don't need to do the CBT ever again.

@bonio didn't actually think about that option :thumb:

If you go for training before you do is pretty pointless as you have to pay for the next one up might as well get full license it costs about the same.
