Thanks everyone !!! This is so much more exciting with you guys onboard 😊

She was on front and back paddock stands. Back tyre completely flat but just pumped it up. Gone through all gears and turned the back wheel round. Clutch was fine. Im just going to take all the plastics off and the front visor frame doodah and then hose it down. See whats what and start bending some ears on what to do next 😬

If i put it in gear and turn the back wheel is that the engine turning over?

Looks good to me.

I hope you enjoy cleaning polishing and possibly painting?

Looks like a bit of attention round that front headstock area.

Looking forward to hearing how the electrics are when you get the key.

Buy some parrafin and get scrubbing ( personally I wouldnt go near it with water to be honest) .

Well done you.

Cheers

It is the engine turning over but hopefully thats quite hard to do as you should be resisted by the compression in the engine.

Can you see oil in the site glass ?

There was resistance and no oil in glass but it has got fuel in it so i suspect they did naff all to it. Just covered it up.

Right then.

Drain the old fuel and examine inside of tank for corrosion ( no point cleaning it if its fooked).

Get the plastics off and wrap them up with old blanket or whatever ( I love decorators dustsheets) .

Parrafin and brushes out because as you clean you see things.

Will your friend be able to give you any history?.

Oh and go careful with that screen it may well be quite brittle if stored outside through the winter.

Oh last point the dog is the wrong breed to give you a proper "Lab" report 😁

The pets are helpful but rember if buffing panels with the Jack Russell it will leave hairs so a lint free cloth is better for final finish.

Doesn't look in too bad nick considering it's been stood outside for a while, fully agree with Ian Frog drain tank and inspect what comes out and the condition inside the tank....you may be lucky🤞

She may be after the brushed look so a Jack Russel brush may be ok
